Seid|litz powders
Seid|litz powder or Seid|litz powders «SEHD lihts»,
a saline laxative consisting of two powders, one tartaric acid and the other a mixture of sodium bicarbonate and Rochelle salt (potassium sodium tartrate); Rochelle powder. These are dissolved separately, and the solutions are mixed and drunk while effervescing. Also, Sedlitz powder.
[patterned on earlier Seidlitz salt (because of the similarity in use) < Seidlitz, a village in Czechoslovakia, the site of a mineral spring]
